Poste Italiane (PI), the Italy’s largest service provider, has been an important partner to Italian families and businesses for over 150 years, succeeding innovating without compromising its values. We provide post and logistics services and are among the main players in the financial and insurance services in Italy. Our network of about 13.000 post offices, unparalleled in Italy, and 30,000 delivery personnel allows us to serve local communities and offer equal opportunities to all Italians: we provide our 30 million customers (individuals, companies and the government) with a wide range of simple, transparent and innovative services. Over the last 20 years our group has succeeded in transforming itself: through PosteVita we lead the life insurance market in Italy and pioneered the electronic payments in Italy with Postepay. Poste Italiane was admitted to listing in 2015: the biggest shareholders are the Ministry of the Economy and Finance and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Due to the important role we play in Italian society, we have adopted policies aimed at reducing our emissions and limiting pollution. For several years now almost 100% of the electricity that we use has come from renewable sources, and we have Italy’s largest fleet of over 1,000 electric vehicles.
Poste Italiane will install digital lockers in order to provide residents with a personalized service for sending /receiving parcels or for accessing digital services such as payments, thus improving:
- the level of tailored parcel delivery services through digital tools to fulfill the rural areas users’needs.
- the social inclusion of those citizens that cannot have access to the same services compared to the cities, specifically: elderly people, migrants living in low level economic conditions, people with low level of digital knowledge.
- the digital education of people living in elevated digital divide areas, hoping to develop a digital culture.
